This was a September 2000 Cerati show at West Hollywood’s House of Blues. However, this was not really the Cerati solo debut that peeps expected. Yes, the flyer used the artwork for Cerati’s 1999 solo album “Bocanada.” Yes, also Gustavo Cerati was there on stage. However, he exclusively performed his electronic music produced as part of his duo called Ocio with Flavio Etcheto. Ocio released an album called “Medida Universal” in 1999. Cerati only used the microphone to thank the attendees and his next LÁ solo performances would have to wait until 2003. Nonetheless, Cerati was at the cusp of Latin American musicians toying with electronica as this album came around the surge of the genre and also the emergence of Nortec in Tijuana. This is particularly evident as Terrestre (Fernando Corona, now known as Murcof) and Planktonman (Nashio Chávez) then part of the Nortec Collectivewere the openers for this show. Thanks to @vespertinee for the ????! • #gustavocerati #cerati #bocanada #ocio #flavioetcheto #terrestre #murcof #planktonman #nortec #latintronica #westhollywood #houseofblues #losangeles #2000 #rockarchivoLA
