The category is: Metal (Yes, that’s a reference to Pose on FX) Here’s a flyer from an VERY EARLY Metal en español show back in 1993 featuring Estruendo, (H)echizero, Resusitador(sic) & Tormentor (FCDN). Seems like there were several bands name Tormentor, hence the addition of FCDN to the name. Sounds like they played “ultrafast raw death/thrash” and played in the metal/thrash scene from the 1980s until the 1990s. While FCDN Tormentor screamed in English, they might have had Latino members in their ranks. The other bands on the bill, Estruendo, (H)echizero, Resucitador all screamed in Spanish. Estruendo actually released some songs with Discos and Cintas Denver Sí, el sello mexicano dedicado al urbano, punk, metal y que editó los primeros discos de El Tri. Now the Bogart's Nightclub in Long Beach had an extensive history that intersects with Rock Angelino. It began as a disco joint in the 1970s and by the late 1989s, Bogart's switched its format to become one of the first "alternative rock" clubs in the Long Beach/North Orange County area. A score of punk and grunge bands like Faith No More, The Weirdos, Stone Temple Pilota, Jesus Lizard, Rocket from The Crypt, firehouse and yes, Nirvana played there between 1987 and until its closing in late 1993. Actually, you can check out a video of one of Nirvana's performances a Bogart's on YouTube. By 1992 Bogart's became one of the first rock venues to book Rock Angelino bands in Southern California on a constant basis. Some of earliest Rock Angelino bands such as Cero Maldad, Purpura, Prophecy, La Razzza that played a blend between urbano and metal appeared in the Bogart's 1992/1993 monthly calendars. In addition, the venue calendar announcing the advent of "Alternative Rock in Spanish" at Bogart's appeared in 1993. Bogart's closed down for good in late 1993 and the site is now a supermarket. ???? #bogarts #metal #urbano #longbeach #rockenespañol #FCDNTormentor #Estruendo #hechizero #resucitador #rockangelino #1993 #rockarchivoLA
