There’s some religious and gender-bending symbolism going on here! While still critically unexplored, Rock En Español and by extensión, Rock Angelino aesthetics (particularly in the 1990s) flirted with glam and gritty androgyny or gender- fluidity, which at least timidly pushed against the strict mannishness of the music genre, the patriarchal, Latin American customs, and Western gender binary imposed values.
