So, just make it look Latin, spicy or something like that..." Designer: "Say no more, fam!" • • • • • This is a rather odd and random design for a couple of December 2003 Café Tacuba shows at House of Blues on the Sunset Strip. The design evokes the artwork of artist Shag, whose 1950s bright retro-infused art became ubiquitous in Southern California in the early aughts. Yet, the flyer design for this Café Tacuba is off on the essence of the Ciudad Satélite band. None of the characters even remotely resemble Rubén, Meme and los Rangel. Y para acabarla the singer is playing maracas (¿?) and there’s a drummer, even when Café Tacuba does not have a drummer as a formal member (Luis Ledezma, el Children es el baterista de CT. Pero no es miembro fundador.) Pero bueno, maybe HoB wanted to get too artsy with their promo materials. Thanks to @_cguetta for sharing this image! Ahora la pregunta: what do you think of this flyer? It’s random, but cool? Or just random and inaccurate AF? Comment here or vote on the story! #cafetacuba #cafetacvba #shaginspired #houseofblues #hobLA #hob #sunsetstrip #2003 #RockArchivoLA
