These are photos taken by @mureea at a Lynwood High School Gig in 1999. The show featured Chencha Berrinches (with its first line-up with darky-gothic Javier Oviedo as the singer), Schizm & Viernes 13. In some of these photos one can also see the Schizm iconic bass cabinet, which due to its size was used by many of the SELA bassists during shows. Also pictured is Viernes 13’s Sunslite drum set with a double drum bass, which Mikey favored back then (and that was a pain to set up and mic!). These instrumental features denote the rich variety of music, rhythms, and also stylistic influences that proved to be the fertile ground for the LÁ ska sound for decades to come.
