While the San Fernando Valley has historically lacked all-ages music venues, this has been no impediment for the growth of the ska scene in the valley. From the thriving backyard gigs in Pacoima, Sylmar, and Panorama City (and those Valley backyard are huge!) to the steady stream of shows at the now defunct Cobalt Café in Canoga Park. The Cobalt was one of the few and persistent all-age venues in the area, which hosted punk, metal, alternative, ska for about 20 years, until finally closing in 2014. This flyer is from the 2007 Sekta Core! performance organized by @evoekoremedia in one of the early tours of the Atizapán de Zaragoza band in SoCal. The line-up also include these homies: Roncovacoco and for the the valley Sektor8 and (La) Los Arambula. Be on the lookout for the posts on Valley backyard flyers! ????: Shared by @alexis_nicolasa from the Sektor8 myspace.
