- At the height of their communal creative process, the Nortec Collective ventured into staging a show their hometown’s¬ legendary Las Pulgas. The venue on La Revo, has long been known as Tijuana’s mecca for Banda & Norteño.
Hence hosting a Nortec party/rave/happening at Las Pulgas was an improbable, yet completely logical site for the electronica-meets-banda music and visual genre, which is reflected in this dazzling 2002 flyer that references the poster de baile aesthetic. ¡Veanlo nomás!
As music vanguard for the 2000s, the Nortec Collective would become known worldwide, until its dissolution in 2008. Yet, several of the acts (Fussible, Bostich, Clorofilia, Panóptica) continue to perform and produce music that is closely aligned with the sound and aesthetic of Nortec. Marzo 2002.
