Working within Rock Angelino L.A. based organic intellectuals embodied different and overlapping roles. Inspired by counter-cultural magazines and ‘zines printed in Mexico City, Tijuana, Buenos Aireas, and Madrid, they created and wrote their own alternative publications en español in the form of ‘zines and magazines in which they circulated information about Latin America bands and chronicles of their lived experiences as migrants in the U.S. In conjunction, some of the writers also formed bands whose lyrics and performances became closely associated with immigrant rights groups and actions in Southern California.
Which of these publications did you read? Do you have still have any of these mags? ???? ¿Y si todas estas publicaciones eran en español porque escribí el pie de foto en inglés? ???????????
