- Today it was such a huge honor and joy to be part of the L.A. Times Festival of Books panel of the “Arts & Culture: Past, present, future” panel along with Samanta Helou Hernández, Alejandra Olmedo, Guadalupe Rosales. Plus, the organizer & moderator of the whole thing, Marty Preciado. Gracias for all your archiving and chronicling work and for putting this panel together.
Also, thanks to y'all who took time to attend (yes, even if you felt compelled to attend to earn extra credit for my CSULA & CSUN classes!) Lastly, it bears repeating: I encourage y’all to document, chronicle your own scene, your own neighborhood. This not only gives you a sense of the present but will also lead you to understand how the past has created our own present and how we can then imagine and expand the possibilities for the future. Oh, and please keep finding and sending/posting/sharing those flyers/photos/videos!
