Here’s the mentioned artwork entitled “Maria Daniela y su Sonido Lasser Concert, Azusa, CA.” (2008) by Shizu Saldamando. The 3×5 feet graphite on wood piece has been exhibited at LACMA as part of the “Phantom Sightings: Art after the Chicano Movement” exhibit in 2008 and the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in 2011, at the Vincent Price Art Museum at ELAC in 2013 among other exhibitions. Plus, Salamando's work is part of a couple of MTA metro stations. In her work, Saldamando focuses on “visual biogrpahies” of people who are part of youth cultures. Definitely check out her very cool artwork and also her work as a tattoo artist @shizutattoo !
PS: the MDYSSL 2007 Azusa show was produced by Pure Underground's @ulises_kalavera there is a video of the show on YouTube so go find it!
