At the onset of the 1990s, Bob Keane became interested in Rock Angelino and signed Eclipse, Mirage, and Lynxe. Keane, was the rock and roll impresario who first released the albums of Mexican-American rock and roll singer Ritchie Valens (Ricardo Valenzuela de Pacoima pues). This in an apparent effort to rekindle his company’s 1950s success following the meteoric career of Valens.
Eclipse released their eponymous record in 1993 with Del-Fi Records, thus becoming the first ever Rock Angelino band to ever be signed by a U.S. Label. The self-titled album became popular among rock urbano fans in Los Angeles and also in Mexico, but found lackluster support from Del-Fi Records, due to label's lack of understanding of Latinas/os music tastes.
Now check out how this flyer hammers out the Del-Fi connection with #riiiitchie, not my riiitchie!!! #eclipse #delfirecords #bobkeane #ritchievalens #eclipse #coconutteaszer #rockangelino #1993 #rockarchivoLA
