“Cagapalos stay your asses home.” Cagapalos, in the backyard sense was equivalent to the “snapper” term for the rave scene. Cagapalos, snappers were troublemakers who would likely get in a fight or attract the attention of the PoPo causing the gig to end. As we can see the term has long been used in South East Los Angeles (S.E.L.A.) youth cultures, with @matamoska making the term even more (in)famous by composing a track with said nam, which exactly describes the attitude and behavior of a Cagapalo. In addition, SELA has long been an area brimming with youth culture production and activity in the form of backyard gigs/events/raves etc. etc. Check out the line-up for this South Gate backyard gig titled “Devil’s Night” (a sort of Halloween show) that featured Chencha Berrinches, Maldición, Nema, Balistik, Left Out, and Schizm. “Soda chips, water, available at bar.” All of this for only $3 bucks!
