- El Rescate were a series of showcases organized by Club Rock En Español that featured some of the emerging Rock Angelino bands of the early 1990s and also served to collect food and funds for pro-immigrant organizations.
Here’s The Roxy ad published in the long-defunct L.A. Reader (a weekly publication) that lists the Sunday October 15, 1995. This Rescate featured Los Olvidados, Voz D’Mano, Cábula, Verdadera Fe and rare performances by Emilio Morales (La Banda Elástica editor and composer of classic María Fatal/La Razzza tracks such as Portate Mal and Vamonos para California) and ¡Yvonne Gómez! Yes, C.R.E.E. Co-Founder and current Peermusic VP has a superb voice that has been featured in Las 15 Letras and Los Olvidados tracks.
Also listed in this add some singer-song writer named Ben Folds and oh a not-so-secret Red Hot Chili Peppers show for the Fan Club members only.
