This was the first ever Nortec event in Hollywood that was co-organized by Jerry López (ele spacio), Edoardo Chavarin (NaCo), and yours truly (ecléctica). The party featured Fussible, Hiperboreal, Terrestre, and Niño Astronauta and Plankton Man the latter two were already residing in LÁ. Plus Max & V-Rama as DJs. The event was really novel and forward-thinking (all the credit to Jerry). Yet, Nortec was still to new for LA audiences so we ended up moving it to a smaller venue, the long defunct Martin Lounge on Melrose. (There are now some pricey apartments there now). Creo que perdimos dinero, pero como nos divertimos. Yo hasta de más…eerr so I wish I could remember more of that night. But anyways, In the same summer of 2000, there was a huge massive Festival Nortec 2000 at La Bola (CECUT) in Tijuana that served as a springboard for the Nortec collective to become known worldwide. Jerry was instrumental in spreading the Nortec gospel in Southern California and beyond. These days he’s an accomplished and lauded sound engineer for major music festivals and consummate road manager for plenty of established mainstream acts. But he remains a really nice down-to-earth cat. @implacable #nortec #elespacio #NaCo #Fussible #Hiperboreal #Terrestre, #NiñoAstronauta #Plankton Man #eclectica #2000 #rockarchivo
