The first edition of Big Top Locos (October 1994) had two stages in the grounds of the Grand Olympic Auditorium. This is a photo of Lysa Flores performing in the second stage, a.k.a. the Che Guevara stage, logically named for its huge backdrop of the Latin American Insurgent. María Fatal and S.E.L.A.. acts such as Maywood’s J.A.B.O.M. (Just A Bunch Of Mexicans) performed in that same stage. The photo was taken by the famous L.A. foremost photographer, Gary Leonard and is part of the Los Angeles Public Library Photo Collection. Organized by Culture Clash, Big Top Locos was a pioneer music festival as it was the first included big LÁ acts such as RATM, Cypress Hill with up and coming Chicano bands such as Lysa Flores AND emerging Rock Latino talent such as Maria Fatal, Los Olvidados, Todos Tus Muertos and TJNO! In such a large venue. #bigtoplocos #lysaflores #mariafatal #grandolympic #granolympicauditorium #losangeles #justanotherbunchofmexicans #rockangelino #rocklatino #rockenespañol #latinalternative #losangeles #laplphotos #garyleonard #takemypicture #takemypicturegaryleonard #1994 #rockarchivoLA
