- Since we are all in the warm and fuzzy, celebratory mood, I want to take the chance to thank YOU all for being part of this collective endeavor mágico, cómico, musical e histérico…I mean histórico. Many times, our mere presence as Latinas/os/xs is placed in doubt of being more than “bird of passage” in LÁ and the U.S. and even in Latin America.
This is far from being true, we are and long have been part of the history of Los Ángeles, the U.S. and Latin America. Our collective presence and our cultural & artistic production in this Rock Angelino genre (and many others of course) is proof of the inventiveness, cleverness, and imagination that transcends idiomas y fronteras.
Thanks for being part of this collective effort. For sharing your photos, your flyers, your cassettes, your videos, and your memories. Thanks for reading, commenting, scrolling, liking, and sharing.
We, everyday people don’t have the justice system on our side; we don’t have institutional power; we don’t have millions of dollars or much the presidency. What we have is our stories, and we’re going to keep telling and sharing them everywhere, aquí y allá. Let’s keep at it in 2019! —@implacable
