The desire to share Rock en Español songs with others club members eventually led the C.R.E.E. to host listening parties for club members and friends. These early gatherings took place in garages and backyards belonging to club members’ family members. However, the meetings soon proved too loud and crowded for the backyards and garages. Therefore, “the girls” (as they were colloquially known by the club members) soon transitioned into renting out banquet halls in restaurants or dance halls primarily in South East L.Á. that would allow them to have bands. “We had no idea on how to put a show together, but we felt compelled to throw these shows, so we could have an event where club members could meet,” stated Gómez. She emphasized that it was imperative for the C.R.E.E. to have a physical place where to meet and socialize with club members, but also where the sharing of the music could take place as they could not hear the music elsewhere in public in Southern California. “We wanted to have a place where we could all hear this music that was not being played in the radio or sold almost anywhere in L.A. or the U.S.” The flyer here is from one of these very first early C.R.E.E. shows in February 1990 with one of Rock Angelino pioneering bands: Voz D’ Mano. Flyer shared by Robert Corrales, one of VDM original members who was also the second person ever to join the C.R.E.E. as a club-member.
