- This is the volante for Las 15 Letras very first show that took place in 1993 at Macondo. The venue, Macondo was a Latin American cultural space in the rougher side of East Hollywood on Melrose avenue. The other two bands on the bill were Los Olvidados and Echo Park. Yes, E.P. was a punk band comprised of Echo Park residents, back when Echo Park was a primarily Latina/o neighborhood. Originally four of the original Las 15 Letras members resided in Echo Park. Notice that the original and complete name of the band was “Las 15 Letras de 2 Culturas” ¡A pa’ nombrecito! Plus, even when this was to be their first ever show, they were already referencing Los Viejos Tiempos. Do you have flyers/photos from Las 15 Letras shows?
