- Here are the photos and flyer of how that October 1st gig at The Fais Do-Do turned out, it became, "The Last (first) Tocada of Los Olvidados at The Fais Do-Do." The members of Los Olvidados decided to call it quits after the show was booked. Hence Las 15 Letras, Motita, and Mexican Jumping Frijoles became the bands that fortuitously shared the stage in this memorable, unforgettable apoteósico show.
The venue had a legal capacity of 300, but that night seemed like EVERYONE from the 1990s Rock Angelino scene was there. The venue was a sweaty, HOT AF affair and the bouncer kept sneaking people in using the back door and pocketing the cash! Former L.A. Weekly writer and now Chicano Studies professor María Elena Fernández brought a bouquet of roses for the band and these flew during the first song from the stage to the crowd. Los Olvidados played all their songs, it was a huge compressed mosh pit until 2am and then Los Olvidados said good bye to the crowd and to Los Angeles forever…JK! ¡Hasta creen!
Todo el drama de la separación de la banda, na’ más para que @olvidadonorte regresaran de su retiro ¡apenas al año después! #noposwow. Octubre, 1999.
