- Las 15 Letras performing at the Tianguis Cultural del Chopo in 1998. El Chopo is Mexico City's countercultural marketplace that has long been the meeting space for CDMX youth cultures. This performance marked a first of sorts for both Las 15 Letras and El Chopo, as Las 15 Letras were one of the first Rock Angelino bands whose line was composed of all U.S. born latinos, yet all their songs were written and performed in Spanish as they understood themselves as being both Angelinos and Latin Americans. Thus embracing the multiplicity of cultural, ethnic, and musical identities.
