- Sooo today, Friday October 12, 2018 Café Tacvba return to the very first venue where they ever performed in (West) Hollywood: The Troubadour. The Ciudad Satélite foursome debut en Sociedad hollywoodense was produced by the determined and diligent women of Club Rock en Español (C.R.E.E.) The show was booked on Wednesday, because at the time no Hollywood club thought it was possible for some Mexican band to fill their dancefloor on a weekend, so the middle of the week on a school was the only option. But thanks to the C.R.E.E. grassroots promotion and the expectation to check out Café Tacuba live as their first record had just come out months earlier, that the day of the show there was a huge buzz about the show.
This buzz and the long lines of Latinas/os outside the Troubadour and along Santa Mónica boulevard compelled the band, promoters and venue to scrambled to offer an additional show, for two different sets of audiences on the same night!
Twenty-five years later, not only Café Tacvba is still at it, but is returning to play five dates at The Troubadour.
