Since it's April, here's something from 19 years ago. Wait, wait. it's been 19 years, already!!?? ???????????????? Anyways, this was one of my first shows at the Fais Do-Do. The concept was simple, yet ambitious: to have bands from LÁ and Baja California share the stage as a way to bridge both scenes that were brimming with good, solid music. This show featured Tokadiscos (we still didn’t know they spelt it with a K) from Ensenada as it was their first ever performance in LÁ. Almalafa ended up not showing up, so I think Los Kung Fu Monkeys or Be-Am (both also from TJ) were added. This in addition to Los Olvidados. I remember it being a packed, very memorable show, and that attendees instantly got the concept and were enthusiastic of the show line-up. The flyer was designed by Tom Cat from Club London, so you can see some of the club aesthetic style. And yes, we knew that Ecléctica is spelled with an é, but neither one of us could find the é on this particular font. Personally, I still think it’s a great looking flyer. April 1999. —@implacable
